The Regional Accounting Manager is responsible for supervising, delegating in and participating in accounting departmental tasks for a Region. These tasks include, but are not limited to, providing oversight of the recording, tracking, and reporting of financial information; hiring, training, and motivating accounting staff direct reports; documenting, developing, and implementing department controls, policies, and procedures; and ensuring that the department operates efficiently without sacrificing accuracy. This position will support our Event & Exhibit Services team and is eligible to work a remote schedule. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages and oversees the daily operations of the field finance accounting department which includes, depending on requirements of the Region, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, business analysis and tax.
- Monitors and analyzes accounting data, supports the month-end close process, and oversees the production and delivery of timely and accurate financial reports or statements.
- Establishes and enforces proper accounting methods, policies and principles, and internal controls.
- Assists in preparation of the annual budget and interim forecasts, including supporting schedules.
- For consumable inventory, prepares monthly allocation entries, supports the bi-annual physical count process, and validates adjustments; works with warehouse leadership in both in the planning and recording of inventory and assists with related external audit reviews.
- Maintains, tracks, and amortizes prepaid balances.
- Assists with budgeting, requisitioning, tracking, and disposition of Capex.
- Works with field to prepare monthly variance analyses for revenue, costs, and SG&A to include summary narratives.
- Analyzes financial data and creates reports for management, stakeholders, and external parties, such as vendors, lenders, or regulatory agencies.
- Prepares applicable journal entries including revenue and expense accruals, correcting, and adjusting entries, recurring entry requests, amortization schedules, and allocations.
- Prepares general ledger account reconciliations.
- Work with Corporate finance team to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at in interim and at year-end.
- Prepares a varied array of standard analytical reports related to job performance, operational efficiency, and financial accuracy.
- Assists other departments as they develop strategies, establish objectives, and make decisions that could have a financial impact on the business.
- May prepare ad hoc financial analyses as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
- (3) three years or more experience in Accounting and working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures that apply to varied situations.
- Strong Microsoft office skills, particularly in excel.
- Hyperion and SAP experience is preferred.
- Strong aptitude for working with numbers.
- Must be detail oriented with minimal errors.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
