- Owning the administration and continual improvement of the Accounts Payable function
- Overseeing the review and coordination of payroll processing (in collaboration with the People & Culture team) as well as completion of new jurisdiction registrations to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal and state laws
- Maintaining and enhancing internal financial policies, procedures, and documentation in accordance with U.S. accounting standards and compliant practices
- Developing and maintaining a robust compliance calendar tracking all recurring tax and regulatory obligations across applicable jurisdictions
- Ensuring timely and accurate processing and reconciliation of indirect taxes (e.g., sales tax, wagering taxes), working with external tax specialists where required
- Supporting the preparation of year-end financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Partnering with internal and external auditors to ensure timely provision of supporting documentation and reports
- Leading improvements in financial systems and reporting templates to enhance clarity, insight and efficiency, including the use of AI
- Ensuring documentation standards and financial records meet U.S. federal and state requirements for retention and audit-readiness
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; CPA or working towards CPA preferred
- Considerable experience in a finance or accounting role, ideally in a regulated industry or public practice environment
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, state and federal tax regulations, and compliance frameworks
- Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for accuracy and detail
- Analytical mindset with the ability to solve problems and identify opportunities for improvement
Are you a Dabbler?
A person’s attitude is key, as the right individual will learn quickly and bridge any skill gaps. A Dabbler is a team player, eager to share and learn from colleagues. In our remote-first workplace, a collaborative approach is essential for empowering and developing each team member (for example, we value open communication through public channels on Slack for problem-solving and brainstorming).
A Dabbler maximizes their autonomy and enjoys contributing to the Dabble community. We understand that a fulfilling life extends beyond work, and we encourage our employees to prioritize self-care and well-being. This means taking breaks when needed, setting boundaries, and seeking support when facing challenges. We are committed to creating a safe environment where individuals feel comfortable discussing their wellbeing and accessing resources when necessary.
We hold a high regard for our peers – every idea is valued. We encourage you to think creatively, be bold, and aim to continuously set higher standards.
