Our Client is one of the largest producers of bulk synthetic grade granular ammonium sulfate in the world, all products are produced to consistent material specifications and reliable quality to exceed the industry standard.

Job Summary: The Benefits/Payroll Specialist will process regularly scheduled payroll and maintain employee time records. As well as being responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits which include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability

Duties/Responsibilities:
-Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employee's hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
-Ensure proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.
-Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
-Records and processes federal and state payroll tax deposits.
-Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
-Assists with new-hire orientations.
-Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
-Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
-Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility.
-Enrolls employees with carriers and process life status changes.
-Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
-Assists with the open enrollment process.
-Administers the tuition reimbursement program.
-Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges.

Required Skills/Abilities:
-Strong oral and written communication skills.
-Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
-Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software.
-Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Required Education/Experience:
-Must have a valid TWIC card and driver's license.
-High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
-Minimum of two (2) years in a position in accounting, bookkeeping or HR with at least 1 year of payroll experience. And 1 year of benefits administration.
-Knowledge of state and federal tax laws.
-Must be able to work independently or in a team atmosphere with minimal direct supervision with drive toward accomplishment, and to produce high quality work.

Preferred Education/Experience:
-Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
-SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Benefits Administration Certified

Reports to: HR Manager - Hours: M-F
Compensation 75k-90k plus bonus and all Benefits
