Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Utility Construction Project Manager for a full-time, direct hire opportunity in The Colony, TX, serving projects throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. This role is ideal for a hands-on project leader with a strong commercial construction background and proven experience managing utility, municipal, and public infrastructure projects from pre-construction through closeout.

The Utility Construction Project Manager will work closely with executive leadership, operations, estimating, field teams, municipalities, inspectors, engineers, and clients to deliver essential infrastructure projects that support continued growth across North Texas.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage multiple commercial utility construction projects from pre-construction planning through final closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, cost reports, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and closeout documentation.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, field personnel, inspectors, municipalities, owners, engineers, and clients.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress, quality, safety, and compliance with OSHA and local municipality requirements.
- Lead project meetings, communicate project status to leadership, and resolve issues that could impact schedule, cost, quality, or client satisfaction.
- Partner with estimating and operations teams during project turnover to ensure successful execution and strong project outcomes.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Manage commercial utility construction projects across scheduling, budgeting, documentation, field coordination, and client communication.
- Lead project execution for public and private infrastructure work throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
- Coordinate municipalities, owners, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and internal construction teams.
- Drive safe, timely, high-quality project delivery while maintaining budget control and strong client relationships.

- Minimum of 5 years of commercial construction project management experience required.
- Commercial construction background required.
- Residential construction experience alone will not be considered.
- Strong experience managing multiple construction projects simultaneously.
- Ability to read, review, and interpret project plans, specifications, contracts, and scopes of work.
- Experience managing project schedules, budgets, forecasts, cost reporting, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and closeout packages.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong leadership, organization, communication, problem-solving, and client relationship management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with executive leadership, estimating, operations, field teams, municipalities, inspectors, engineers, owners, and clients.
- Commitment to safety, quality, accountability, and successful project delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with commercial utility construction.
- Experience with municipal utility projects.
- Experience with water distribution systems, sanitary sewer systems, and storm drainage systems.
- Experience with utility relocation projects and dry utility coordination.
- Experience with DOT or public infrastructure projects.
- Experience working with municipalities throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
- Experience using Procore, HCSS, HeavyJob, HeavyBid, Viewpoint, or similar construction management software.
