Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Med/Surg Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of prior travel experience required License: Active RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: Previous charge experience preferred Travel experience required Patient ratio experience of 5:1 required Description: Start date options are available. The candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the Med/Surg Tele specialty. The unit primarily cares for adult and geriatric patients. Patient diagnoses include Med-Surg diagnoses, TIA, and CVA patients when appropriate for a 1:5 ratio. The unit does not accept cardiac patients such as ACS, NSTEMI, or patients requiring cardiac or insulin drips. Daily patient census is approximately 11, with a total of 16 beds available. The patient-to-nurse ratio during night shifts is 5:1. The ideal candidate should possess skills in managing various medical conditions, including but not limited to: Accessing and managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, and cardiac telemetry. They should also be familiar with central line care, CVA management, oxygen administration, and telemetry monitoring. Interdisciplinary support is available from various teams, including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. The facility conducts a mandatory drug screening upon arrival, which includes marijuana testing. Candidates are advised to avoid substances that could result in a positive drug screen before arrival. Candidates must be available to complete necessary lab items within 72 hours of accepting the offer. Charting experience with Altera is preferred, but not required. If applicable, the candidate's licensure and certifications must be verified. Modules should be completed during the orientation period.
