Diesel Mechanic

Alamo Concrete Products Company, ACP, is headquartered in San Antonio, TX with 8 Divisions throughout the Greater Central/South Texas Region. ACP produces and delivers concrete and operates Aggregate Quarries that supply concrete, aggregate (rock) and sand to the batch plants.

We are hiring a Mechanic for our Austin Division. The Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, including trucks, mixers, and other heavy machinery.

Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:

• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, electrical systems, and hydraulic problems.
• Collaborate with the operations team to schedule maintenance.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
• Stay updated on the latest diesel engine technology and repair techniques.
• Follow all PPE protocols, including proper use, care, and timely replacement.
• Abide by all federal, state and local traffic laws.
• Promptly report any incidents, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns to the supervisor.

Required Skills and Experience:

• More than one year of hands-on experience in diesel engine and heavy transport maintenance.
• Prior experience in servicing and repairing mixer trucks is preferred.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and be able to pass an MVR verification.
• Ability to operate a standard transmission vehicle.
• Must be able to successfully pass a drug screen and physical examination.
• Must be able to work overtime, nights, weekends, and early mornings.
• Responsible for providing and maintaining personal tools appropriate for the role.
• Proficient in the use of hand tools and shop equipment.
