Industrial Maintenance Electrician (Journeyman)
A day in the life — Tyler, TX 75701
You start your shift with a walk-through of the facility, scanning panels, motors, and control cabinets for anything out of the ordinary. Preventive checks come first, followed by targeted electrical troubleshooting when an unexpected fault light pops on. You’ll isolate the issue, reference codes, review PLC I/O status, and return the line to safe, reliable operation. Throughout the day you’ll document your work, coordinate with teammates, and recommend improvements that strengthen uptime and safety.
What you’ll take on
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues quickly and safely across facility systems.
- Install, service, and repair electrical equipment to meet code and company standards.
- Partner with peers to enhance processes and optimize electrical reliability.
- Perform routine inspections and scheduled preventive maintenance.
- Record findings, repairs, and installations with accurate, timely documentation.
- Track emerging technologies and methods to continuously improve.
What you bring
- Active Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent credential.
- Hands-on industrial electrical experience with strong troubleshooting capability.
- Solid understanding of electrical codes, safety practices, and system fundamentals.
- Working knowledge of PLCs and related control systems.
- Detail-oriented problem solver with clear communication skills.
- Comfort working independently and collaborating within a team.
- Positive, safety-first mindset.
