Your future position
Kpler provides the most comprehensive tracking of commodity flows in dry bulk, and we are rapidly expanding it. Our portfolio covers critical commodities that are integral to global energy and food security, such as thermal coal and grains, those essential for industrialization, including iron ore, metallurgical coal, and aluminium as well as the energy transition (copper and nickel). As part of our market data operations team, you'll play a vital role in driving the advancement of our offerings. Your contributions will be instrumental in ensuring our clients receive accurate and reliable data, empowering them to navigate intricate market dynamics and capitalise on emerging opportunities with confidence.
\n Your mission is to:- Own Quality: Take charge of specific regions and product groups and ensure the highest standard of data quality, by reviewing internal constraints and ingesting data from external sources.
- Continuous improvement: Identify technology and process improvements to efficiently and effectively process data and improve the data accuracy of our seaborne flows.
- Monitor market news and developments , to first extract meaningful patterns and detect new trends and then support our product managers by providing evidence to improve business rules and algorithms.
- Draft fast-response analysis to ad-hoc requests from clients (emails, chats, video calls and in-person meetings) and assist the sales and customer success teams in meeting clients’ data needs and optimise client engagement by adding further improvements to our internal system.
- Experience working with large, disparate and/or unstructured data sets (advanced Excel and SQL skills and Python knowledge would be a plus).
- Prior experience in shipping and trading, with knowledge of dry bulk commodity markets.
- You have proven experience integrating data and ease with working with databases.
- You have experience working with some of the following tools: JIRA, Postman, Tableau, Appsmith, Rundeck, Slack.
- You show willingness to learn, are a team player, quick learner, and able to work within short deadlines across multiple tasks.
- You have the ability to work and communicate in an international cross-cultural environment, with a strong focus on providing solutions.
- You are comfortable working with ambiguity and uncovering answers to complex product development questions.
