Cybersecurity Administrator

Title: Cybersecurity Administrator

Compensation: $65,000–$70,000

Preferred Location: Austin, TX also open to San Antonio, TX

Top Technical Requirements

Client is looking for a candidate with a strong cybersecurity mindset who understands how security principles apply across infrastructure, networking, applications, and emerging technologies.

1. Physical & Virtual Networking

Physical Networking:

• Ability to manage equipment in a rack environment.
• Experience terminating cables is highly preferred (current team gap)

Virtual Networking:

• Ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues between devices.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (Networking 101).

2. Firewall Management

• Experience managing firewall policies.
• Understanding of web application firewall policies.
• Ability to troubleshoot and administer firewall-related issues.

3. AI & Emerging Technology Awareness

• Understanding of current AI applications and how they can improve day-to-day IT troubleshooting and administration.
• Ability to leverage AI productivity tools.
• Awareness of how developers and IT teams are utilizing AI to improve efficiency.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Development experience
• Anything to do with App Security
• Experience with cloud service providers such as Microsoft Entra, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or similar platforms would be highly valuable. A strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, hosting environments, and cloud-based architecture would be a major plus for this role.
