Network Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Network Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Irving, TX . Ideally looking for applicants with experience in network engineering, strong knowledge of Cisco Nexus devices, FortiGate firewalls, and networking protocols.

Rate Range: $37/hour to $43/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Network Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software, including multi-user applications and servers.

• Implement and oversee security measures like firewalls, antivirus, intrusion detection, and VPNs to protect against unauthorized access.

• Resolve network connectivity issues, hardware/software problems, and provide technical assistance to end-users.

• Create and maintain detailed documentation for network configurations, policies, and procedures.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree.

• 6–8+ years of experience in network engineering.

• Good knowledge of Cisco Nexus devices and FortiGate firewalls.

• Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and switching.

• Experience configuring and managing routers, switches, and firewalls.

• Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, antivirus, and security protocols.

• Experience implementing and managing backup/disaster recovery plans

Good-to-Have Skills:

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Ability to interact with internal/external clients and handle escalations.

• Highly committed to meeting business objectives.

• ITIL knowledge.

Pay Details: $37.00 to $43.00 per hour
