About This Apprentice Electrician Job in Texas
As an Apprentice Electrician, you will assist in installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical wiring, conduit, fixtures, and machinery components. You will also learn how to read diagrams and blueprints, perform math calculations on the job, and follow all safety rules while working under direct supervision.
Pay: $20.00–$24.00 per hour (or more based on experience)
Schedule: 8-hour shifts | 10-hour shifts | Travel required
Work Location: On the road
Essential Job Functions
Hold a valid Texas Apprentice Electrician License and Driver’s License
Perform math calculations and solve problems on job sites
Install or repair wiring, fixtures, conduit, and power equipment under supervision
Follow electrical code, drawings, diagrams, and specifications
Measure, bend, thread, assemble, and install conduit using proper tools
Complete tasks as assigned and submit daily work orders
Maintain truck parts inventory and ensure proper tool storage
Follow all company and customer safety policies
Learn within a work crew using performance-based goals
Create positive relationships with customers, vendors, and suppliers
Complete a Quality-Safety-Clean scorecard for every job
Supplemental Job Functions
Support the VP of Operations with scheduling, safety, and work orders
Assist the Branch Manager with technical and customer-related information
Manage multiple tasks and work independently after training
Use good judgment and show respect toward customers and coworkers
Communicate clearly in writing and verbally
Complete accurate daily work orders
Learn and apply SMART goal development
Adapt to changing workflow and work hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Be willing to travel to job sites across the United States
Maintain a drug-free status and clean driving record
Job Requirements
High School diploma required; electrical license or degree preferred
Minimum 2,000 documented electrical hours desired
Texas Apprentice, Journeyman, or Master License accepted
Ability to work in cold, heat, heights, and outdoor conditions
Ability to lift 50 lbs overhead and perform physical tasks
Must read blueprints, electrical diagrams, and color-coded wiring
