Job Details:

• Work 36 or 48 hours per week on a med-surg unit with no telemetry monitoring or cardiovascular drips
• Patient ratio of 5:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Care for adults and geriatric patients with daily census of 10-13 patients
• One call shift required per 6-week schedule
• Weekend coverage required with 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (Saturday/Sunday counts as a weekend shift)
• 40 hours of orientation required
• 2 years of experience in service line required
• Travel experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Experience with Allscripts charting system preferred
• Must maintain skills in short stay 23-hour unit, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure care, ABG interpretation, telemetry, blood product administration, central line management, PICC line care, IV starts and maintenance, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, wound care, and isolation precautions
• Handle patient diagnoses including post-op, orthopedic, diabetes, pneumonia, wound care, CBI, and urology cases
• Work with interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Must be at least 150 miles from facility location
• Facility conducts mandatory drug screen upon arrival including marijuana testing
• Must complete required lab items within 72 hours of accepting offer
• Hard document deadline: Thursday 2pm CST prior to start date
