Position Overview::

The Production Superintendent, 2nd Shift will lead and supervise production personnel, ensuring efficient and effective execution of all production activities and adherence to established schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols

What you will do::
  • Develop, implement, and monitor production plans and processes, ensuring continuous improvement in productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Conduct regular production audits and identify areas for improvement, implementing corrective and preventative actions as needed such as root cause analysis and failure investigations.
  • Monitor and maintain production equipment, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Oversee inventory management, including requisitioning materials, managing stock levels, and minimizing waste, including quarterly cycle counts completed in assigned areas.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering, quality control, sales, and purchasing, to ensure smooth operations and seamless product flow.
  • Identify and address production issues promptly, minimizing downtime and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.
  • Manage cost center to FY plan budget.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and employee development.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all relevant regulatory requirements for medical devices.
  • Participate in kaizen events and lean projects.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate production reports and documentation.

Supervisory responsibilities

  • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of production workers, supervisors, and support staff.
  • Provide clear direction, guidance, and support to achieve production goals and targets.
  • A bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, business administration, or a related field preferred.

Skills for Success::
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in production supervisory role in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Previous experience in the medical device industry preferred.
  • <10% travel required
