Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.Purpose of Position:
The role of this position is to assure the uptime of facilities equipment and optimal conditions of the building. The supervisor keeps the facility running efficiently by overseeing both personnel and equipment performance.
Major responsibilities/Tasks:
- Maintain, in optimal conditions, the building and facilities equipment
- Track and manage budget
- Identify saving costs projects within facilities area
- Identify and implement best practices based on experience and corporate recommendations
- Implement and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities of the facilities equipment that support the operation of the building and manufacturing activities
- Organize 24/7 coverage without overtime
- Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities and directing the work of its group
- Maintain safety initiatives as LOTO, industrial vehicles, EPP usage and Electrical safety
- Supervise the usage of supplies and equipment
- Procurement of equipment and/or contractors services
- Coordinate repair and installation of production and facility equipment in a timely manner
- Direct and assist maintenance technician in repair and or installation of all production and facility equipment
- Work from prints, sketches, written or verbal instructions to design
- Install production and facility equipment
Function:
- Implement and maintain automated system to monitor and improve efficiency of the equipment and personnel
- Maintain personnel and equipment at best-in-class performance while keeping the budget at its lowest level
Minimum Education, Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of experience leading Facility or Maintenance department
- Experience on large manufacturing buildings
- Knowledge of Electrical substations, HVAC, Compressed air and Reverse osmosis systems
- Previous experience leading projects
Additional Skills (Desired):
- Fully bilingual (Spanish)
- Knowledge on compressed air and reverse osmosis systems
- Electrical troubleshooting skills
- Problem solving abilities
- Strong verbal, written skills, and presentation skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Six sigma belt certifications
- Knowledge of ISO9001, TL9000 and ISO 14001 certifications
This position does not support immigration sponsorship.
The range for this position is $81,602.00 - $112,204.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
