What You’ll Do

Kongsberg Digital is seeking a skilled and motivated Forward Engineering Developer to join our Forward Engineering team. This role is responsible for customizing, configuring, and deploying Kongsberg Digital's KogniTwin platform and Simulation product offerings to meet the specific needs of our customers. This is a hands-on, customer-facing technical role requiring strong development skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills. The Forward Engineering Developer will work closely with customers, project/product managers, solutions architects, and other members of the Forward Engineering team and core Engineering teams to deliver tailored solutions based on Kongsberg Digital's standard products. This role reports to the regional Director, Forward Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Solution Customization: Develop and implement customer-specific customizations to Kongsberg Digital's KogniTwin platform and Simulation products, using programming languages, scripting languages, APIs, etc. - e.g., C++, Python, JavaScript, REST APIs, KogniTwin SDK, etc.

• Configuration and Deployment: Configure and deploy Kongsberg Digital products and customized solutions in customer environments (which may be on-premise or cloud-based).

• Integration: Integrate Kongsberg Digital products with customer systems and data sources.

• Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during implementation and deployment.

• Customer Interaction: Work directly with customers to gather requirements, understand their technical environment, and provide technical support during the implementation process.

• Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for customer-specific solutions.

• Collaboration: Collaborate with project/product managers, solutions architects, core Engineering teams, and other Forward Engineering team members to ensure successful project delivery.

• Testing: Thoroughly test customizations and configurations to ensure they meet customer requirements and quality standards.

• Best Practices: Adhere to Kongsberg Digital's coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines.

• Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest features and capabilities of Kongsberg Digital's products and relevant technologies.

Ownership

• The technical quality and successful implementation of customer-specific customizations and configurations.

• Accurate and timely completion of assigned tasks within Forward Engineering projects.

• Thorough testing and documentation of developed solutions.

• Effective communication with customers and internal teams regarding technical aspects of projects.

Impact

• Customer Satisfaction: Directly contribute to customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality, tailored solutions that meet their specific needs.

• Successful Project Delivery: Ensure the on-time delivery of respective projects.

• Product Adoption: Seek guidance from Forward Engineering Leads to ensure product customizations are aligned with product strategy and vision. Enable customers to effectively utilize Kongsberg Digital's products and realize their full value.

• Revenue Generation: Support the sales process by enabling successful implementations and customizations.

• Enable Delivery: With faster and accurate solution.

Required Competencies:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or Engineering.

• 2+ years of experience in software development, solutions engineering, or a related technical role.

• Strong programming skills in relevant programming languages - e.g., C++, Python, JavaScript, Java, C#.

• Experience with relevant technologies - e.g., REST APIs, web services, databases (SQL, NoSQL), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), scripting languages, etc.

• Experience with software development tools (e.g., Git, Jira, Jenkins).

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed nationally and internationally. Up to 33%.

Desirable Competencies:

• Experience with the KogniTwin platform or similar industrial digital twin platforms.

• Experience with Kongsberg Digital's Simulation products.

• Experience in oil & gas, energy, or manufacturing industries

• Experience with Agile development methodologies.

• Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
