Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position requiring at least 2 years of OR experience across General, Ortho, Neuro, Trauma, and ENT cases, with on-call responsibilities and a variable schedule.

• General OR and Ambulatory OR setting within a hospital environment
• Case types include General Surgery, Orthopedic, Neuro, Trauma, ENT, Vascular, Gynecology, Cardiovascular, Bariatrics, Thoracic, Plastics, Urology, Ophthalmology, Podiatry, Robotics, Endoscopic Procedures, and Oral Surgery
• Pediatric surgical experience preferred, including Pedi General Surgery, Pedi ENT, Pedi Urology, and Pediatric Dentistry
• Variable schedule of 3x12-hour day shifts (6:30–19:00) with rotating days off — no block schedule or set days
• On-call required
• Holiday coverage expected
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• 16-week contract

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or Compact RN license (pending license accepted, must be active before start)
• Current BLS and ACLS required; PALS preferred; NIHSS required
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
• Experience in General, Orthopedic, Neuro, Trauma, and ENT surgical cases required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided required skills are met
• 2 supervisor references from within the last 3 years required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — locals are not accepted

Additional Information

• Preferred skills include a wide range of vascular, gynecologic, plastic surgery, robotic, and minimally invasive surgical procedures
• Equipment familiarity with electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, cell saver (preferred), Hana Table (preferred), and Steris (preferred) is a plus
• Robotic surgery experience preferred, including Da Vinci Xi, Mako, and Mazor systems
• An on-site drug screen is conducted upon arrival, including a panel testing for Marijuana — a positive result results in automatic cancellation with no exceptions; candidates should avoid CBD products prior to and during the assignment
• RTO requests must be submitted with application
