The Director of Quality/Risk Management is responsible for organizing, leading, implementing and supervising day to day operations of the performance improvement and risk management programs.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse, graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • Must hold a current state license and must maintain license renewal in accordance with the standards of the State Board of Nursing
  • In states where a Risk Management license is required, must be a Licensed Healthcare Risk Manager. In other states, a risk management certificate would be preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, administration or healthcare related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • Three to five years of full-time management experience, with two years’ experience in the area of quality and risk management.
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality or Healthcare Accreditation Certified Professional, preferred
  • Long term acute care and rehabilitation experience is preferred
  • Demonstration of leadership, , and the application of interpersonal skills and principles of supervision and administration
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English, as well as possess good verbal and written communications skills
  • Good computer skills with minimal guidance

Job Duties:

  • Ensures department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards.
  • Responsible for the fiscal management of the department and ensure the proper utilization of the organization’s financial resources.
  • Develops and implements the quality/performance improvement program, ensuring its consistency with the mission, policies, and procedures as evidenced by the manual.
  • Serves as the Loss Prevention contact for the hospital
  • Oversees the daily operation of the continuing care/quality improvement department.
  • Develops and implements the risk management program ensuring it fulfills the mission and strategic goals of the hospital, while complying with state and federal laws and accreditation standards related to safety/risk:
  • Promotes environmental and patient safety
  • Promotes infection control principles as identified in Hospital policy and procedure
  • Promotes efficient use of departmental supplies and equipment
  • Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team
  • Manages human resources to ensure quality services and promote positive employee relations.
