We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Spacecraft Systems Engineering & Integrations to join the team with Aerodyne. We are seeking a Spacecraft Systems Engineering & Integrations Lead to drive technical integration at the spacecraft level ensuring Gateway vehicle systems meet Human-Rating Requirements for Space Systems mission requirements, interface correctly across elements, and are validated through rigorous SE&I processes established by NASA and program control boards such as the Gateway Systems Engineering and Vehicle Systems Integration Control Board (GSVCB).

The Lead Spacecraft Systems Engineering & Integrations will:
Spacecraft -Level Systems Engineering
- Lead development and maturation of vehicle-level requirements, interface definitions, architecture products, verification and validation plans, and configuration management artifacts.
- Provide insight/oversight for Gateway program major milestones (SRR, PDR, CDR), similar to the integration activities referenced across Gateway tasks
- Conduct system-level functional, performance, and risk analyses.
Software Systems Integration
- Serve as the technical integrator across key Gateway elements (PPE, HALO, VSM, MSM, crew systems, avionics, networking, software)
- Coordinate interface updates with Visiting Vehicles, HLS, Orion, and cross‑program stakeholders.
- Support resolution of RIDs, discrepancies, and cross-subsystem conflicts.
Avionics, Networking & Software Coordination
- Provide integration oversight for avionics, C&DH, networking, and FSW development—echoing tasks found in Gateway WAP and network systems discussions.
- Guide system-level testing and support verification activities using lab resources (e.g., ANVIL/GTA Network Engineering, Gateway Avionics Hardware and Software Integration Labs)
Program & Technical Leadership
- Present integration status, risks, and recommendations to NASA customers and contractor leadership.
- Mentor and guide systems engineers, ensuring alignment with NASA SE processes.

Requisition Qualifications:

- Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering and may be expected to have a related master's degree and normally possess 10-15 years of related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience performing systems or software engineering for spacecraft, aerospace programs, or other safety‑critical platforms.
- Proficiency with Human-Rating Requirements for Space Systems requirements development, V&V, SE processes, and interface control.
- Experience with Review and Generation of Engineering Drawings and Interface/Documentation
- Experience with software & avionics systems, spacecraft networks (e.g., Ethernet‑based protocols, C&DH architectures), or flight software integration
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (per contract requirements across multiple Gateway postings).
Requisition Preferences:
- Experience supporting NASA programs, especially Gateway , Orion , HLS , or ISS systems
- Ability to lead cross‑disciplinary engineering teams and drive integrated design decisions.
- Prior vehicle‑level SE&I or control board experience (SGRB, CCB, GSVCB).
- Knowledge of Time‑Triggered Ethernet, safety‑critical networking, or complex avionics integration.
- Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and SysML toolchains.
- Understanding of NASA NPR 7150, NPR 7123, NPR 8705.2, standards, and certification processes.
- Experience with Collaborating with Atlassian Confluence / Jira / Microsoft SharePoint / Microsoft Visio Tools
