Reporting to the Divisional Dean - Lifestyle and Community Learning, the Director of Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is responsible for providing assistance and support to executive SBDC leadership to develop, implement, administer and evaluate programs and serve as the administrative link between the SBDC Partners and the development centers. The Director provides management and oversight of SBDC operations for the Tarrant Small Business Development Center and its satellite locations. The Director administers the program in accordance with federal grant guidelines, Tarrant College policies and SBDC program procedures and guidelines.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Essential Performance Requirements*- Plans, implements and administers small business assistance services offered by the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) staff in the City of Fort Worth, as well as other cities located in Tarrant County
- Strategizes, designs, plans, negotiates, executes, and manages effective internal controls for the Tarrant SBDC
- Follow ups with clients to ensure they respond to post-counseling impact surveys and report fully on project results
- Collaborates with small business clients who need assistance to grow and develop their business
- Collaborates and builds strong alliances with various organizations, colleagues and small businesses
- Promotes SBDC activities and advocates public policies favorable to small business interests
- Promotes existing relationships and establishes new partnerships, leveraging the SBDC's service offerings to drive economic development and market growth
- Facilitates cross-functional team collaboration between SBDC programs to drive execution of strategic initiatives and to maximize the value for the client, stakeholders, and community partners
- Maintains a detailed knowledge of federal, state, local and other funding sources which may be used by clients to defray the costs of projects
- Monitors and controls projects to ensure attainment of goals, client satisfaction and compliance with the requirements of funding sources and North Texas SBDC policies and procedures
- Maintains strict oversight of the SBDC budget that includes federal, state, local and program income funding for the management of SBDC operations
- Designs and executes a staffing plan to meet requirements through selection, training, evaluation and supervision of assigned staff
General Supervision and Management Responsible for the management, evaluation, and development of assigned direct reports Service Excellence - Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
- Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
- Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
- Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
Supervision Works under the general supervision of the Divisional Dean - Lifestyle and Community Learning - Performs Other Related Tasks as Required

Required Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree and four (4) years' working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements
- Five (5) years' significant business management experience
- Two (2) years' experience supervising (e.g., managing, evaluating the performance of others)
- Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree
- At least two (2) year's working experience in marketing
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Knowledge of business and industry marketing strategies, program development, technology, business processes, and analysis tools
- Skilled in qualitative and quantitative analysis
- Skilled in excellent verbal and written communication in order to prepare instructional materials and to develop and maintain effective relationships with varying levels of staff, business/industry, community groups and funding agencies
- Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships
- Skilled using computer applications and enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
- Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly and accurately while effectively managing time, supporting resources, and stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
- Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
- Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
- Ability to delegate work appropriately to faculty and staff to meet College and campus deliverables

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
