Marina Dockhand I
Overview
The Marina Dockhand I is responsible for maintaining the routine cleanliness of the marina facilities and grounds. This position performs preventative maintenance of facilities, docks, grounds, and marina equipment and assist marina customers and the public. Additionally, they will assist with safety patrols during special events, help enforce marina regulations and assist with night shift patrols as needed.
Responsibilities
- Performs custodial duties to all Marina facilities, grounds, and maintain the overall cleanliness of the marina complex
- Empties all trash cans within the Marina complex and remove debris/trash from Marina waters within the marina basins and along the seawall
- Operates various types of equipment to accomplish tasks such as golf carts, Kubota 4X4, weed eater, backpack blower, power washer, and other various types of hand tools Performs carpentry and preventative maintenance of Marina docks and piers, facilities, and Marina infrastructures
- Operates various types of tools such as electric drills, hammer drills, jog saw, cutting torch, band saw, chainsaw, hole saw, Sawzall, hydraulic press, air nailer, air impact wrench and cable cutter
- Performs minor plumbing to facilities, dock, and piers, replace and repair PCV, PVAS fitting, water values sanitary hose line, replace toilet flanges, etc
- Utilizes tools such as multi-voltage meter, wire cutters and pilers
- Performs minor electrical maintenance and repairs to facilities, piers, and docks
- Uses chemicals such as cleaners, pipe glues, pipe fitting sealants and acids
- Performs daily and weekly safety inspections of all vehicles and ensure they are safe for daily operations
- Inspects all lubricated for correct levels, inspect all lighting, turn signals, and safety beacons for proper operations
- Checks wheels and tires for wear, damage, and proper air pressure
- Assists with boat lift hoisting, provide rigging, blocking, and bracing vessels on land
- Performs other duties as assigned
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
· Non - Exempt – Full-Time – Rotating 40-hour work week, Monday-Sunday 24/7/365
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement
· In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services

Minimum Qualifications
· High School Diploma/GED
· Six (6) months to one (1) year of experience
Certifications, Licenses or other requirements
Required
· A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hiring
Required within six (6) months of hire
· First Aid and CPR Certification
Preferred Qualifications
· Previous experience with building and/or grounds maintenance with skills in painting, carpentry, plumbing and minor electrical preferred
