Network Developer

Our client, a consumer electronics company, is looking for a Network Operations Center Technician to join their team in Allen, TX! This is a 6-12 month initial contract and is fully onsite so local candidates are required.

Required Skills & Experience

• Solid understanding of network fundamentals - TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, subnetting, routing, and switching.

• Hands-on experience with network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or similar).

• Knowledge of routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and switching technologies (e.g., STP, trunking, EtherChannel).

• Familiarity with network security concepts - ACLs, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and firewalls.

• Experience using network monitoring and diagnostic tools (Wireshark, Nmap, SolarWinds, Nagios, etc.).

• Basic understanding of cloud networking (AWS VPC, Azure Virtual Networks, or Google Cloud Networking).

• Proficiency in scripting or automation (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) to streamline network configuration and troubleshooting tasks.

• Exposure to configuration management or infrastructure as code tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Puppet.

• Understanding of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) principles and APIs.

• Familiarity with Linux networking commands and network troubleshooting on both Windows and Linux systems.

• Experience with version control systems like Git for managing network configuration changes.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve network issues efficiently.

• Effective communication and documentation skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering , or a related field.

• (Preferred) Industry certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA, or CompTIA Network+ .
