Assistant Vice President of Foreclosure
The Assistant Vice President of Foreclosure is responsible for overseeing the foreclosure operations for BSI Financial. This role ensures that foreclosure activities are executed in compliance with federal, state, investor, insurer, and company guidelines, while balancing timelines, quality, and risk mitigation. The AVP/Manager will lead a team of foreclosure specialists and coordinate with internal and external partners (attorneys, vendors, investors, and agencies) to drive timely and accurate foreclosure processing, reduce losses, and protect company interests.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of foreclosure associates to meet departmental goals and service-level agreements.
- Oversee the foreclosure process from referral through completion, ensuring adherence to regulatory, investor, and company requirements.
- Partner with attorneys, trustees, and third-party vendors to ensure accurate and timely execution of foreclosure actions.
- Monitor pipeline performance, timelines, and reporting metrics; identify and resolve bottlenecks or issues.
- Review and approve escalated foreclosure files, exceptions, and high-risk cases.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Loss Mitigation, Bankruptcy, and REO departments to ensure seamless handoffs and risk controls.
- Prepare and present operational reports, metrics, and trend analysis to senior leadership.
- Stay current on industry regulations, investor guidelines, and state foreclosure laws to maintain compliance and mitigate risk.
- Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce losses, and enhance customer and investor satisfaction.
- Act as a subject matter expert for foreclosure-related audits, examinations, and investor/insurer reviews.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
- 5+ years of experience in mortgage servicing with direct foreclosure experience required.
- 2–5 years of leadership or management experience in a foreclosure, default, or loss mitigation environment.
- Strong knowledge of foreclosure laws, regulations, investor/insurer guidelines (FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, USDA).
- Proven ability to manage high-volume pipelines and deliver results in a deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for working with attorneys, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and act on performance metrics.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with mortgage servicing systems (e.g., MSP/Black Knight, LPS, or similar).
- Experience leading foreclosure teams in a mid- to large-scale servicing operation.
- Knowledge of CFPB regulations and state-specific foreclosure timelines.
- Demonstrated success in process improvement and team development.
