Peer Support Specialist II Certified
- This position requires graduation from a standard high school or GED.
- The Peer Coordinator must have been treated in a behavioral health system for at least one year and have a level of stability and recovery that facilitates participation in the treatment and recovery of other mental health consumers.
- Previous experience in working with older adults is beneficial.
- Knowledge of the Peer Support Code of Ethics (developed by Via Hope) is essential to this position, as these requirements guide all aspects of peer services.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team approach with other Older Adult Mental Health Program staff to foster a culture of recovery.
- Must demonstrate an ability to engage mental health consumers to participate in and take charge of their own recovery.
- Ability to work effectively with the older adult population and to increase knowledge of specific needs to the older adult population.
- Must complete the Peer Specialist training for continued employment.
- Must have and maintain a level of general physical and mental health that permits the performance of job duties.
- Must be able to perform unaided or with reasonable accommodation, the essential tasks, both in the classroom as well as on the job, CPR/First Aid, and PMAB.
- Must be able to travel 100% of the time.
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance is a must.
