Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical – Lubbock, TX 79410

Start Date: August 10, 2026

Location: Lubbock, Texas

Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00). Weekend coverage required with 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period. Floating between units required within acute care/medical surgical areas.

Highlights:

• 13-week assignment at a 379-bed Short Term Acute Care facility with Level II Trauma Center designation
• New acute care surgery, trauma, and emergency general surgery unit with 27 beds
• Manageable nurse-to-patient ratios of approximately 1:5
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more

Requirements:

• Active Registered Nurse license (Compact license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Epic charting system experience required (Hardstop)
• Experience with 1:5 patient ratios preferred
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Skills required include blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tube management, insulin administration, IV therapy, wound care, and post-operative care
• Must provide 2 professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Clean background check required; facility does not accept Nursys or background hits
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
