POSITION SUMMARY:

Overland Corporation is seeking an experienced and motivated Civil Project Superintendent to oversee heavy civil construction operations throughout the North Texas area. This leadership role is responsible for the overall success of project execution including scheduling, budgeting, quality control, safety compliance, staffing, and owner satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a proven leader with expertise in aggregate base placement, earth grading, pipe work, and asphalt paving who can effectively coordinate crews, equipment, subcontractors, and project resources to deliver high-quality infrastructure projects safely and efficiently.

JOB DUTIES & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Manage and develop field supervision personnel and oversee multiple crews as needed.
  • Lead by example to promote a strong safety culture and maintain an injury-free workplace.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and site-specific safety plans.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily construction operations to meet or exceed project deadlines.
  • Monitor project performance and proactively address schedule risks, delays, and field challenges.
  • Coordinate labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment resources for maximum productivity.
  • Ensure all work is completed according to project specifications, quality standards, and contract requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, estimators, foremen, and owners throughout project execution.
  • Participate in project meetings with owners, clients, municipalities, and transportation authorities.
  • Conduct jobsite walk-throughs, inspections, and hazard assessments.
  • Assist with project budgeting, cost control, production tracking, and revenue forecasting.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with Texas and Oklahoma transportation authorities, inspectors, and stakeholders.
  • Support project closeout activities and ensure owner satisfaction upon completion.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a positive driving history.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Extensive knowledge of heavy civil construction operations including grading, paving, aggregate base, excavation, and underground utilities.
  • Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, scheduling, and quality control procedures.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and jobsite hazard mitigation practices.
  • Familiarity with DOT standards, municipal requirements, and transportation authority procedures.
  • Understanding of project cost tracking, equipment utilization, and workforce management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; construction-related education preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of heavy civil construction experience required; 5+ years preferred.
  • Proven expertise in aggregate base placement, earth grading, pipe work, and asphalt paving.
  • Experience working with Oklahoma and Texas State, County, and City Transportation Authorities preferred.
  • OSHA 10-Hour Certification required; OSHA 30 preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple crews and coordinate with operational teams.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel and work throughout North Texas as required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and navigate active construction sites for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, wind, and rain.
  • Ability to safely access uneven terrain, trenches, and heavy equipment areas.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, high-visibility vests, and work boots.
  • Travel throughout the North Texas area is required.
