Data Engineer Sr. Consultant level

We are looking for Versatile curious and energetic Data Engineer who embrace solving complex challenges on a global scale.  As a Visa Data Engineer you will be an integral part of a multi-functional development team inventing designing building and testing data analytic solution that reach a truly global customer base. While building components of powerful payment technology you will get to see your efforts shaping the digital future of monetary transactions.   

The Work itself: 

• Develop data analytic solution and platform that serve a significant share of the worlds population while influencing Visas internal standards for scalability performance security and reusability.
• Collaborate across functions to create design artifacts and deliver best-in-class data engineering solutions supporting multiple Visa technology offerings.
• Contribute to product quality improvements service reliability and new business flows within diverse agile squads.
• Develop robust scalable products for a wide range of customers including end-user merchants B2B partners and business-to-government solutions.
• Leverage innovative technologies to build the next generation of Payment Services Transaction Platforms Real-Time Payments and Buy Now Pay Later capabilities.
• Make an impact globally and locally through mentorship and continuous learning opportunities.

Essential Functions:

• Works directly with product owners to gather and refine requirements across products adding and taking into account existing tools and solutions across the organization.
• Develops and designs advanced architect solutions that are robust and scalable considering integrations with other solutions across the internal technical ecosystem.
• Provides domain expertise on the development of technical documentation of solutions and contributes to standard processes in technical documentation as needed.
• Plays a key role in the development and delivery of new features across products from end-to-end.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications :

Basic Qualifications:
8 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters MBA JD MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD OR 11 years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters MBA JD MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
A Computer Science or similar major.
Experience leading delivery of streaming analytics platforms
Excellent understanding of algorithms and data structures
Excellent problem solving and analytics skills. Capable of forming and advocating an independent viewpoint
Strong experience with agile methodologies
Excel in partnering with Product leaders and technical product managers on requirements workshops helping define joint product and technology roadmaps and driving prioritization
Experience driving continuous improvements to processes and tools for better developer efficiency and productivity
Experience leading design and development of mission-critical secure reliable systems
Experience leading delivery across multiple technologies: Python Java Apache Kafka Apache Flink Hive MySQL Hadoop Spark Scala Splunk design patterns test automation frameworks
Experience leading delivery of streaming analytics platforms
Excellent understanding of algorithms and data structures
Excellent problem solving and analytics skills. Capable of forming and advocating an independent viewpoint
Strong experience with agile methodologies

Additional Information :

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk communicate in person and by telephone frequently operate standard office equipment such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 152200.00 to 220850.00 USD per year which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge skills experience and addition this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical Dental Vision 401 (k) FSA/HSA Life Insurance Paid Time Off and Wellness Program.
