IT Intern
This internship is ideal for students pursuing a degree in Information Technology (IT), Computer Information Systems (CIS), Cybersecurity, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related field who are interested in IT infrastructure, technical support, systems administration, and operational technology services. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the IT Operations team with daily technical support activities and operational tasks
- Provide first-level support for hardware, software, printer, and connectivity issues
- Assist with workstation deployments, device imaging, system setup, and equipment replacements
- Support user account administration tasks, including onboarding, offboarding, password resets, and access requests
- Maintain and update IT asset inventory records and equipment tracking
- Help monitor and maintain system health, patching, and endpoint compliance
- Assist with troubleshooting issues related to Microsoft 365, Windows systems, and common business applications
- Document technical procedures, troubleshooting steps, and operational processes
- Support conference room technology and office IT equipment as needed
- Participate in IT operational improvement initiatives and process standardization efforts
- Assist with maintaining organized IT storage areas, spare equipment, and deployment readiness
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff when appropriate
Required:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems (CIS), Cybersecurity, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related field
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking concepts
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration tools
- Experience with Windows operating systems and basic system administration
- Exposure to Active Directory or user account management concepts
- Experience working with ticketing systems or help desk environments
- Basic understanding of networking fundamentals and cybersecurity best practices
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues in a structured manner
- Willingness to learn new technologies and operational processes
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Professional communication and customer service mindset
- Adaptability in a fast-paced technical environment
