Key Job Details – ICU RN Travel Assignment

• Location: San Antonio, TX 78229 – South Texas Medical Center
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), rotating weekends
• Hours per Week: 36
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse (Locum Tenens)
• Start Date: August 11, 2025
• End Date: November 10, 2025
• Unit: Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU)
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1460 - $1500

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license (no temporary licenses accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Proficient in hemodynamic monitoring (swans, arterial lines) and ventilator management
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Preferred: Experience with IABP, CRRT, and Meditech charting
• Ability to float to other critical care units as needed

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill patients in the CVICU
• Monitor and manage advanced cardiac devices (post-CABG, post-VAD, IABP, Impella, ECMO)
• Perform hemodynamic monitoring and manage ventilators for complex cardiac patients
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech electronic health records
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including floating to other intensive care units as required
• Maintain professional appearance (navy scrubs required) and comply with all dress code policies
