Salary:
Into Action Recovery Center / The Well is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant / Medication Aide to join our growing detox and behavioral health team. This position plays a vital role in supporting patients through the detoxification and recovery process by assisting nursing staff with medication administration, patient care, documentation, and daily medical operations.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about helping others and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
Medication Administration & Patient Support
Administer oral and topical medications within certification scope
Maintain accurate Medication Administration Records (MARs)
Process and complete provider orders daily
Order and re-order medications as needed
Monitor and report medication side effects or adverse reactions
Ensure medications are stored and handled according to policy
Clinical Duties
Obtain and record vital signs including BP, pulse, temperature, and oxygen saturation
Coordinate laboratory testing and patient scheduling
Print and upload lab results into patient charts for provider review
Observe and document withdrawal symptoms and patient behavior
Assist patients with hygiene, nutrition, and mobility as needed
Conduct routine safety rounds and room checks
Documentation & Communication
Accurately document patient care in EMR systems or paper charts
Communicate abnormal findings or patient concerns to nursing staff
Assist with admissions and discharge procedures
Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and appropriate boundaries
Facility & Infection Control
Keep medical areas clean and organized
Disinfect medical equipment and surfaces per protocol
Monitor and report unsafe conditions or contraband
Follow all PPE and infection control guidelines
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Certified Medication Aide (CMA) or equivalent required for medication administration
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) preferred
Current BLS/CPR certification required
Strong communication and observation skills
Knowledge of detox medications and withdrawal symptoms preferred
