Chief Financial Officer - Service Industry
Our client, a well‑established service industry organization based in Puerto Rico, is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their executive leadership team. This role offers the opportunity to drive financial strategy, operational excellence, and business growth in a dynamic and evolving market. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of financial leadership, strong business acumen, and the ability to navigate both local and mainland U.S. regulatory environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic financial leadership and partner with the executive team to drive business objectives and long‑term growth initiatives
- Oversee all financial operations including accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, tax compliance, and internal controls
- Develop and implement financial strategies, budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support organizational goals
- Ensure compliance with federal, U.S., Puerto Rico, and local regulatory requirements, including tax incentive programs specific to Puerto Rico and the United States
- Lead financial risk management, cash flow optimization, and capital allocation strategies
- Direct the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and presentations for stakeholders and leadership
- Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, and financing arrangements
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to build organizational capability
- Collaborate with business unit leaders to provide financial insights that inform strategic decision‑making
- Oversee audit processes and maintain strong relationships with external auditors and advisors
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance role (CFO, VP Finance, or Controller)
- Proven experience in the service industry or related sectors
- Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance
- Strong understanding of federal and U.S. tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Strong understanding of Puerto Rico tax laws, incentive programs, and business regulations
- Demonstrated success in strategic financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
- Experience managing financial operations for organizations with revenues of $50M+
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience building and developing high‑performing teams
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non‑financial stakeholders
- Proficiency in financial systems, ERP platforms, and advanced Excel skills
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (written and verbal)
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, or business integration
- Prior experience working with private equity, investors, or board of directors
- Familiarity with Act 60 (formerly Acts 20/22) and other Puerto Rico tax incentive programs
- Experience implementing or optimizing ERP systems and financial technologies
- Background in multi‑location or multi‑entity organizational structures
- Professional services or consulting experience
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: $200,000 – $250,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
- Performance Bonus: Discretionary annual performance‑based bonus
