Manufacturing Engineer, Battery Manufacturing
Tesla is looking to hire a Manufacturing Engineer to contribute to the development and launch of manufacturing equipment for our cutting-edge battery products. In this role you will take large scale manufacturing systems for new battery products and architectures from the early concept development stage through equipment launch, optimization and handover to local operations teams. Battery development is at the heart of our company, and this is an exciting opportunity to work directly on the central challenges with electric vehicles – battery architecture innovation and the innovation of the respective manufacturing technologies that come with it. Tesla is a demanding and fast-paced environment where you will work with a highly motivated team on extremely challenging projects. What You'll Do Ideate concepts for equipment and manufacturing system(s)Develop specifications and manage RFQ processLead and manage vendors and coordinate project scope cross-functionally with production, design and qualityValidate and optimize processes from early prototype builds through full volume productionTransition products from low-volume prototypes to large-scale productionFunction as lead manufacturing engineer or project manager on new automated manufacturing equipmentCapability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally What You'll Bring 3+ years of engineering or equivalent relevant experienceExperience developing and implementing manufacturing processes and equipment in high-volume productionExperience deploying, qualifying and validating new processes in a highly automated production environmentProficiency in geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T) and experimental designProficiency in the development and launch of large, highly automated manufacturing linesFamiliarity with industrial engineering concepts such as line balancing and OEEDegree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Physics, Materials, or equivalent experience Benefits
