Program: Transitional Housing Program
Hours: 20 Hours – Flexible
Job Summary:
The Transitional Housing Program Intern will work closely with the Transitional Housing Director to provide support to the Transitional Housing Program to ensure that it’s goals and objectives are met. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, self-motivated, flexible, and exhibit strong time management skills.
Essential Job Duties and Functions:
- Facilitate and/or assist with program life skills classes and concurrent childcare activities.
- Shadow and assist with client intakes, needs assessments, follow up appointments and file maintenance.
- Maintain updated knowledge on all topics related to child abuse, family violence, human trafficking, immigration issues, and impact of trauma on children via approved trainings and assigned webinars.
- Maintain proper documentation, forms, and record-keeping of all client, program, office, and grant-requested information.
- Assist with volunteer activities and Transitional Housing programs.
- Assist with program research and development of forms and other programmatic needs.
- Translate Program forms into other languages if possible.
- Submit weekly/monthly reports in timely manner.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by Supervisor(s) or their designee.
- Provide support to other program staff as needed.
- Compassion for working with trauma, refugee, and immigrant populations.
- Effective communication with culturally diverse populations.
- Social work student preferred. Other fields including Human Services, Behavioral Health, or Criminal Justice may apply.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office.
- Bilingual SPANISH (Preferred)
- CPR Certified (Preferred)
