Responsibilities: Primary Function: The Manager is a working Account Manager who directly manages supervisors and/or team leads who oversee a staff of account managers or customer service staff and may directly manage account management staff. This position works with other managers, sales professionals, carriers and colleagues to develop and implement policies and procedures for servicing clients. Typically assigned to the largest and/or most complex accounts. Typically reports to a group manager. May assist in preparing RFP responses. Primary Responsibilities: - Manages and evaluates the performance of client services staff directly reporting to this position, including completing performance reviews, implementing training and development plans, performing disciplinary action, recognizing and rewarding colleagues, and making compensation decisions.
- Maintains employee work schedules including assignments, training, vacations and overtime scheduling.
- Monitors and enhances the quality and effectiveness of customer service efforts.
- Fosters a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members that allows for diversity as well as cohesiveness, supportiveness and working effectively together enabling each employee and the department to succeed.
- Consciously creates a workplace culture that emphasizes the organization's identified mission, vision, guiding principles and values.
- Monitors individual development and progress, delivering performance reviews and providing additional coaching and guidance as required to ensure timely achievement of business objectives.
- Maintains current knowledge of industry trends, new product information, legislation, coverages and technology.
- Regular and reliable attendance required.
- Some travel may be required.
- Additional responsibilities and projects as assigned.
Qualifications: Required: Bachelor's degree with 0+ years client service and/or claims management experience -OR- High School degree/GED with 3+ years client service and/or claims management experience. Producer's License. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Preferred: Previous insurance knowledge and experience managing client relationships. Solid financial acumen. Behaviors: Proficient in using technology as a tool to maximize productivity and quality. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfortably engages others in consultative discussion. Effectively manages/balances multiple and sometimes competing priorities. Works in a self-directed manner.
