Job Purpose:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior zTPF Application Programmer to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in providing technical leadership and support for the development, maintenance, and enhancement of mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in zTPF, SABRETALK, and ASSEMBLER programming languages, with a strong ability to perform dump analysis, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and testing of software in a 7x24 coverage environment.

• Perform coding in zTPF, SABRETALK, and ASSEMBLER languages.
• Conduct dump analysis, problem solving, general troubleshooting, and software testing to ensure optimal performance of applications.
• Provide off-hours support as needed, with readiness to support 7x24 coverage for critical applications.
• Work in an agile environment, actively contributing to sprint planning, coding, testing, and problem resolution.
• Lead the technical development of solutions and enhancements, ensuring they meet the functional and technical requirements.
• Utilize tools like IBM TPF Tool Kit, CVS tools, and SABRETALK for efficient coding and debugging.
• Perform detailed-oriented tasks requiring high accuracy and precision, particularly in the analysis and design stages of development.
• Collaborate with other team members in a Technical Lead capacity, guiding junior developers and ensuring that best practices are followed.
• Participate actively in all stages of the development lifecycle, including analysis, design, coding, and testing.
• Effectively manage workload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Foster strong communication with stakeholders, keeping them informed of progress and challenges.

Qualifications:

Required Skills & Experience:

• 12+ years of strong full-time, current experience as a zTPF Application Programmer.
• In-depth knowledge and experience working with zTPF , SABRETALK , and ASSEMBLER programming languages.
• Proficient in using IBM TPF Tool Kit and CVS tools for debugging and development.
• Strong understanding of the zTPF environment and its integration with applications.
• Experience working in an agile environment with the ability to adapt to changing requirements.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills , with a strong focus on detail-oriented tasks.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently , take initiative, and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision.
• Ability to multi-task and manage a dynamic workload, meeting deadlines and managing tasks effectively.
• Experience in all stages of the software development lifecycle (analysis, design, coding, and testing).
• Airline and/or FOS Crew experience is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to work in a Technical Lead capacity within an agile team.
• Experience in zTPF maintenance and enhancements , ensuring the smooth operation of production applications.
