Position: Law Clerk / Technical Advisor – Patent Litigation

We’re a small, highly collaborative litigation firm seeking a detail-oriented Technical Advisor to join our patent litigation team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical and communication skills, investigative earnestness, and the ability to clearly convey technical details within legal contexts. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in law, technology, or intellectual property who is eager to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced legal setting.

• Analyze technical documents, patents, and product specifications to identify evidence supporting infringement or non-infringement positions.
• Assist attorneys with developing infringement and invalidity claim charts.
• Conduct prior art research and technical investigations.
• Collaborate closely with attorneys to prepare for depositions, expert reports, and trial proceedings (including potential travel).
• Critically think through technical and legal analyses.
• Organize, review, and summarize discovery materials.
• Evaluate technical arguments and evidence presented by opposing counsel.
• Support attorneys in drafting clear and precise technical descriptions, declarations, and reports.

Who You Are:

• A recent graduate with a strong academic record.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and trial/discovery software experience is a plus.
• Strong interest in technology, patent law, and intellectual property.
• Ability to quickly grasp complex technological concepts across software, hardware, and network systems.
• Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and logical reasoning abilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly in translating technical details into clear, concise language.
• Prior experience in patent litigation support, including claim construction and infringement analysis, is preferred but not necessary.
