Job Summary
Th e Technology Quality Technician is responsible for conducting quality control activities, including inspections, testing, measurement, documentation, and results reporting. This role combines hands-on technical skills with an understanding of the overall Quality Management System (QMS) and the impact that nonconformances can have on the performance, reliability, and safety of equipment and systems.
Job Description
- Inspect documentation, parts, components, materials, subassemblies, and equipment against established specifications using calibrated measurement systems with acceptable repeatability and reproducibility.
- Follow applicable inspection procedures, test procedures, standard work, and quality requirements.
- Perform manufacturing and engineering tests in accordance with approved procedures and standard work.
- Assist with the design, development, and setup of tests, fixtures, and related equipment.
- Ensure all inspection and testing activities are performed safely and in compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Participate in the creation and review of Hazard Analyses and Risk Controls associated with inspection and testing activities.
- When authorized, perform calibration activities for measurement systems and equipment.
- Maintain familiarity with inspection and test procedures, standard work, and test plans, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Accurately document inspection and test results and maintain required quality records.
- Monitor the stability and consistency of inspection and test results over time, when feasible.
- Identify and communicate nonconformances and understand their potential impact on equipment, systems, processes, and product performance.
- Use applicable Manufacturing System principles, tools, and methodologies to support continuous improvement.
- Work collaboratively with manufacturing, engineering, and quality personnel to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Skills Required
- 2–5 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing, Quality Control, or Quality Assurance; industry experience may vary.
- Ability to read, understand, and apply standards, procedures, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Strong mathematical and basic measurement skills.
- Ability to accurately collect, enter, analyze, and report data using computer systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and standard work consistently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to recognize and appropriately respond to quality, safety, and process issues.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing or quality control environments.
- Previous experience with explosives manufacturing or electronics assembly is a plus.
- Familiarity with ISO-based Quality Management Systems is preferred.
- Forklift operating experience is a plus; certification/training may be provided onsite.
- Experience with inspection equipment, measurement systems, manufacturing testing, or calibration is beneficial.
Education
- Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational, technical, or trade school education preferred.
Pay Rate
- $22 - $26 per hour ( Compensation is offered based on experience, skills, and market factors)
Additional Requirements
- Sch edule: 2nd or 3rd shift. $2.00 shift diff. 3rd: 11:30 pm - 8:00 am 2nd: 3:30 pm - midnight
