Job Summary:
The Credentialing Specialist at Exceed Healthcare is responsible for all aspects of the credentialing, re-credentialing and privileging processes for all medical providers who provide patient care as clients of Exceed Healthcare. This Position ensures providers are credentialed, appointed, and privileged with health plans, hospitals and patient care facilities. The Credentialing Specialist maintains up-to-date data for each provider in credentialing databases and online systems; ensure timely renewal of licenses and certifications.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, or related field preferred.
2-3 years of experience in payer credentialing, medical staff services, or healthcare administration.
Previous experience with credentialing software and healthcare systems is a plus.
Certification as a Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or similar credentialing certification is preferred.
Knowledge & Skills:
Strong understanding of credentialing processes and healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, NCQA, CMS).
Proficiency with credentialing databases (e.g., CAQH, PECOS, NPPES) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Gsuite.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with providers, medical staff, and internal teams.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity
Professional written and verbal communication skills and ability
Proven time management and prioritization skills focusing on urgent and overlapping deadlines
