We are looking for a Customer Service Associate in our Rock Yard to provide excellent customer service for our business and distribute products promptly to our customers. You will be operating a forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. Your job could involve driving around the rock yard as well as the warehouses. The goal will be to ensure that materials and products will always be in the right place to achieve maximum efficiency. You will represent our company in a professional and cost-effective manner to increase our profitability and customer satisfaction. Candidates with strong communication skills who can make customers feel welcome in our store will stand out. You will help identify client needs, present and answer questions about our products and services and recommend solutions. A positive attitude and a desire to promptly resolve potential customer issues or complaints will make you successful in this role. Ultimately, you will ensure that customers leave our locations satisfied and you will contribute to the branch's profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Go the extra mile to engage customers
  • Greet and direct customers
  • Provide accurate information (e.g. product features, pricing and after-sales services)
  • Answer customers’ questions about specific products/services
  • Conduct price and feature comparisons to facilitate purchasing
  • Cross-sell products
  • Ensure racks are fully stocked
  • Manage returns of merchandise
  • Coordinate with your team to provide excellent customer service (especially during peak times)
  • Inform customers about discounts and special offers
  • Provide customer feedback to the Store Manager
  • Stay up-to-date with new products/services
  • Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes
  • Follow routes and time schedule
  • Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a delivery vehicle
  • Ask for feedback on provided services and resolve clients’ complaints
  • Inform customers about new products and services
  • Follow DOT regulations and safety standards
  • Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them in assigned places
  • Loadin Materials in cutomer vehicles with rffcinecy and extreme care
  • Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or delivery
  • Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies
  • Transport raw materials to production workstations
  • Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance
  • Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs
  • Comply with company policies and legal guidelines
  • Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities

Requirements

  • Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of characters
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Basic math skills
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of building trusting relationships
  • Ability to perform in fast-paced environments
  • Valid professional driver’s license
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Good driving record with no traffic violations

Bonus Points for the Following*

  • Ability to operate forklifts and tractors in a variety of weather and traffic conditions (willing to train the right candidate)
  • Proven work experience as a Customer Service Associate, Sales Associate, or similar role.
  • Knowledge of inventory stocking procedures
  • Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment
  • Excellent physical condition and coordination
