Logistics Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for all shipping and receiving activities.
• Prioritize and coordinate loading and unloading with warehouse and yard staff.
• Log and track shipments in operations software to support accurate inventory and delivery records
• Direct drivers to the appropriate loading or unloading locations based on material contents
• Manage the flow of incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure drivers are processed efficiently.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with carriers, brokers and suppliers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries
• Collaborate with yard staff, customer service and transportation team to minimize onsite time for both inbound and outbound carriers.
• Occasionally assist outdoors as needed to communicate with drivers or verify shipments.

• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Teams) and the ability to learn custom scrap recycling operations software.
• Comfortable working in an industrial environment and communicating with truck drivers.
• Ability to perform basic math and read/interpret written procedures and safety guidelines.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, or bend as needed
• Capable of sitting for extended periods in an office environment
• Willingness to work occasionally in an industrial environment with exposure to various weather conditions in order to complete weighing process
