In this role, you will design, implement, and deploy cutting-edge HPC compute and storage systems — collaborating with hardware vendors, internal experts, and clients to deliver cost-optimized, scalable, and high-performing HPC solutions.### **Key Responsibilities*** Design and architect scale-out compute environments (GPU and CPU) tailored to Viridien’s HPC workloads.* Work closely with clients to understand future HPC requirements and design customized architectures that meet their needs.* Partner with hardware and storage vendors to co-develop and optimize HPC systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.* Conduct benchmarking and validation of proposed HPC solutions.* Serve as a technical expert and escalation point for advanced HPC hardware and integration issues.* Oversee the deployment of new HPC systems into production environments, ensuring smooth transitions and performance optimization.* Stay current with emerging technologies in compute, storage, and interconnect to guide long-term architecture strategy.* Capture, document, and share best practices with operations and engineering teams across Viridien.**Qualifications*** Bachelor’s degree or higher in STEM### **Required Qualifications & Experience*** Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM field (Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or equivalent).* 5+ years of experience in designing and implementing large-scale HPC compute and storage architectures.* Proven expertise in GPU- and CPU-based system design, including high-density and accelerator-integrated environments.* Strong hands-on knowledge of hardware components, from processors to interconnects.* Experience with high-performance storage systems (e.g., Lustre, Ceph, BeeGFS).* Solid understanding of Linux environments and related ecosystems.* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.* Highly motivated, curious, and eager to learn emerging HPC technologies.### **Preferred Skills*** Experience collaborating across multi-disciplinary and vendor teams.* Knowledge of networking and interconnect technologies (InfiniBand, Ethernet fabrics).* Familiarity with HPC monitoring, benchmarking, and tuning tools.* Exposure to cloud-based HPC or hybrid architectures is a plus.* 3 weeks’ vacation to recharge, 3 personal days and 8 sick days for you to use when you need it the most* A hybrid and flexible work schedule* Relaxed dress code policy* Excellent 401k match program (we’ll match your 5% contribution up to 7%!)* Parental leave program – Viridien offers eligible moms and dads paid time off to bond with their new child* Medical, dental, vision, supplemental benefits available and so much more* Viridien wants our employees to be the best versions of ourselves.
