About You The person we are looking for is energetic, works great as part of a team, has a strong maintenance understanding, and can effectively create and communicate job plans. One who understands the work required to support a demanding manufacturing schedule that produces wire reinforcement products to build American infrastructure. You are a leader to your peers and a key player in the mechanical success of the operation. You believe safety comes first to achieve and sustain Zero Harm outcomes. Position Snapshot A Maintenance Planner/Scheduler is commonly expected to use Maximo, Insteel’s CMMS, to create, update, plan, and assign maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment. They will submit purchase requisitions to ensure all necessary parts are onsite prior to the planned downtime event. The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler will also lead the maintenance department when the Maintenance Manager is away. To be successful in this role you will:
- Plans and Schedules all maintenance corrective and preventative activities
- Utilize CMMS (Maximo) as a force multiplier through intuitive and creative scheduling
- Works closely with maintenance team to create detailed job plans utilizing a combination of CMMS software and Microsoft products
- Requisitions materials necessary for plant equipment repair and equipment compliance
- Purchasing responsibilities, as needed
- Plans and organizes planned equipment shutdowns in conjunction with production schedules
- Works with maintenance for preventative maintenance and work order compliance
- Can interpret blueprints and drawings for part identification and preventative maintenance construction
- Coordinates all preventative maintenance activities for new equipment added to the plant
- Assumes a supervisory role on an as needed basis
- Creates and monitors machine history for predictive failures
- Coordinates outside contractor schedules to meet project completion dates
- Schedules and coordinates all shutdown activities and works with storeroom personnel to ensure all necessary parts are staged prior to the planned maintenance
- Submits recommendations for MRO stocking level additions, deletions, and modifications to the Purchasing Manager
- Professional or technical degree in relevant area preferred
- A minimum of 3 years work-related experience with Maximo or another CMMS system is required or a combination of education and experience
- Accuracy and proficiency in the use of computers and CMMS programs to perform the duties as described is required
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite to include Excel, Word, and Outlook
