Drive High-Impact Client Success Across Complex Technical Projects

Are you an experienced technical project leader who excels at managing complex client portfolios, solving advanced challenges, and driving operational excellence? Do you thrive in an environment where precision, collaboration, and strategic thinking shape the delivery of high-quality service? SPL is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to oversee complex, high-value client accounts and provide advanced technical expertise across laboratory, field, and operational teams in Round Rock, TX . In this role, you will serve as the primary liaison between clients and internal stakeholders—ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and exceptional service throughout the entire project lifecycle.

If you're ready to influence strategic client relationships, lead complex initiatives, and elevate operational performance, we want to meet you!

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage the organization’s most complex, specialized, and high-value client portfolios;
  • Build and sustain strong strategic client relationships, including conducting visits for project planning, issue resolution, and service optimization;
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for advanced technical, regulatory, or operational project concerns;
  • Act as technical expert for project setup, regulatory requirements, method selection, reporting formats, and compliance standards;
  • Conduct final review of complex reports, regulatory deliverables, and electronic data deliverables (EDDs);
  • Monitor and interpret changes in state, federal, and industry regulations, updating workflows and documentation as needed;
  • Support Sales and leadership with RFPs, technical proposals, pricing evaluations, and onboarding of large or strategic clients;
  • Provide leadership-level support during peak workloads, special projects, or PM staff absences;
  • Facilitate collaboration across Project Management, Laboratory, Field Services, Quality, and Support teams to enhance workflow efficiency and client outcomes;
  • Lead and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, process enhancements, and system upgrades;
  • Mentor and coach Project Manager I and II team members to support their development and cross-training;
  • Support departmental KPIs and assist leadership with operational analysis and performance reporting;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Competitive salary with performance-based advancement opportunities;
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance;
  • Paid parental leave for both parents;
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP);
  • 401(k) with company match;
  • Paid time off + paid holidays;
  • Monthly cell phone reimbursement;
  • Leadership development and cross-functional growth opportunities;
  • Collaborative, client-focused environment built on trust, service excellence, and operational integrity.

Requirements

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, chemistry, environmental science, business, or related field—or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Minimum of five (5) years of project management or technical client service experience within laboratory, environmental, or regulatory-driven industries;
  • Demonstrated success managing high-complexity, multi-team projects and strategic client accounts;
  • Advanced knowledge of laboratory accreditation, QA/QC, analytical methods, and regulatory frameworks;
  • Strong ability to interpret complex regulatory and technical requirements and advise internal teams and clients;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and QuickBooks;
  • Experience with LIMS, CRM systems, and advanced project management tools.

Your Schedule & The Fine Print

  • Full-time role following a standard Monday–Friday schedule;
  • Flexibility to work beyond scheduled hours and provide after-hours phone support for urgent client or internal situations as required;
  • Must be able to travel locally for client visits, meetings, or training activities, as needed.
