Lead Superintendent - Multifamily Renovation
Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Superintendent to take ownership of field operations for large-scale multifamily renovation projects in the Houston area. This role oversees on-site construction activities, ensures consistent execution across multiple buildings, and maintains strong coordination with project teams, subcontractors, and residents in an occupied environment.
Responsibilities:
Lead daily field operations for multifamily renovation projects, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity
Oversee subcontractors, trade partners, and field staff while maintaining clear expectations and accountability
Develop and manage project schedules including multi-building sequencing and multi-week look-ahead planning
Review drawings, specifications, and permits to confirm accuracy and alignment with field activities
Conduct regular walkthroughs to track progress, resolve issues, and ensure workmanship meets company standards
Champion jobsite safety through inspections, reporting, and leading contractor safety meetings
Coordinate third-party inspections and ensure timely closeout of any required corrections
Support the Project Manager with field documentation including daily reports, RFIs, submittals, and change-related items
Maintain organized site records including updated drawings, logs, and construction documentation
Facilitate subcontractor coordination meetings to maintain communication and schedule alignment
Oversee punchlist completion, turnover activities, and deliver a clean, quality finished product
Build strong working relationships with owners, consultants, residents, and trade partners
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
8+ years of experience as a Superintendent in multifamily construction
Strong background in renovation; occupied multifamily environments a plus
Ability to manage multiple phases and buildings simultaneously
Proficiency with construction software such as Procore or similar platforms
Strong communication skills with the ability to lead teams and resolve conflicts in a fair, professional manner
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to perform in a fast-paced environment
