Fleet Services Inventory Supervisor

Summary Fleet Services Inventory Supervisor, under the general supervision of the Division Director, leads the inventory specialist team to maintain optimal parts inventory. This leadership role directs all aspects of supply chain operations, including procurement, inventory, and warehouse management, stakeholder communication, and compliance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Supervises inventory specialist team and coordinates the processing of purchase requisitions, receiving reports, purchase orders to maintain required inventory levels
- Participates in the hiring, training, scheduling shifts, reviewing performance, and providing feedback
- Communicates with technicians and parts suppliers to obtain needed supplies
- Manages the entire receiving process, including using parts manuals for identification, validating correct parts, receiving incoming shipments, entering them into the database, and appropriately storing them
- Issues parts through work orders; delivers and picks up parts as necessary
- Optimizes inventory levels through daily reconciliation, removal of obsolete stock, and periodic physical and cyclical audits to prevent over- or under-investment based on demand and fleet demographics
- Answers telephone, processes direct charges, responds to after-hours parts requests for on-call technicians
- Handles request for equipment and vehicle maintenance and emergency response needs
- Maintain a clean and organized parts warehouse
- Assembles parts and materials as needed before issuing
- Prepares routine records and reports on inventory
- Ensures purchasing directives and guidelines are followed
- Follows the city policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications - Combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in supply chain management or related field
- Three (3) years of inventory management experience with automotive, heavy truck or related field
- Two (2) years of lead or supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications - ASE Certification in automotive parts
Certificates and Licenses - Valid driver's license
