- Provide daily technical support for the assigned production unit.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues that arise during daily production operations.
- Enhance process efficiency and production capacity while maintaining or improving quality standards and lowering operating costs.
- Manage New Product Set-Ups and Scale Ups from R&D and Marketing.
- Perform and maintain the Management of Change (MOC) Process.
- Assist with Design Safety Reviews and PHAs where critical thinking is required.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives (CI) to deliver conversion cost targets, unlock throughput, and improve Odessaemployee engagement.
- Develop and implement small capital projects. This includes the ability to manage a project from conception through construction to startup.
- Develop and implement plant projects. This includes the ability to do design work such as piping, instrumentation, controls, and equipment specification.
- Coordinates projects to effect timely, cost-effective, and safe completion within set quality standards.
- Ensure that all design and project work comply with applicable legislation, accepted engineering codes and standards, and Company policies and standards.
- Understands Process Safety Management (PSM) procedures to ensure that the site is in compliance.
- Support the plant safety and environmental/ compliance initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering
- Three years of experience as a Process Engineer in a Chemical Manufacturing Plant
- Advanced Technical Degree
- Five (5) years of experience as a Process Engineer in a Batch Chemical Manufacturing Plant
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings such as PFDs, P&IDs, isometric drawings, electrical diagrams, and loop diagrams.
- Knowledge and experience of relevant Safety, Health, and Environmental regulations
- Experience in troubleshooting and RCA methods
- Experience in Data Analysis and Data visualization (Power BI)
- Project management and contractor management experience
- Strong grasp of Management of Change processes
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to participate in and lead cross-functional teams
