Senior CNC Machinist

RightStone is looking for a Senior CNC Machinist in Stafford, TX, offering $26/hr. on a 12-month contract with potential renewal . In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to produce high-quality components in a precision manufacturing environment. This position supports Baker Hughes, a global leader in energy technology, and is ideal for experienced CNC professionals who thrive in Lean manufacturing settings and take pride in quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6 AM – 2:30 PM OT available and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes and milling machines to produce consistent, high-quality products
• Develop, edit, and maintain CNC programs for production orders
• Maintain and update program files as required
• Read and interpret CAD prints and machining specifications
• Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with CAD drawings and ISO 9001 standards
• Complete inspection records and documentation supporting ISO 9001 certification
• Perform routine machine maintenance, including checking oil and coolant levels
• Use machining tools and supplies correctly (inserts, drills, coolant, etc.)
• Clean and maintain machines and work areas
• Provide backup support to other departments as needed
• Participate in quality, safety, and training meetings
• Complete forms and documentation to support continuous process improvement
• Perform additional duties as assigned based on workload and business needs

Qualifications  

• High School Diploma or GED
• Vocational training as a CNC Journeyman Machinist preferred
• Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience
• Strong CNC programming experience
• Solid understanding of machining theory and best practices
• Proficiency in math, calculations, and blueprint reading
• Strong reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in Lean manufacturing environments
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
