Job Summary

Develops objectives, policies, and procedures for the procurement of goods and services necessary for the operation of the company. Oversees purchasing programs and processes and ensures adherence to approved quality and delivery standards. Selects suppliers and negotiates for commodity items. Develops systems and tools in support of the procurement function. Provides analytical support to procurement management and staff

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

• Analyzes vendor consolidation for purchasing and makes recommendations.
• Conducts ongoing training and consultation.
• Develops and enforces policies and procedures.
• Performs overall analysis of purchasing effectiveness.
• Analyzes and resolves purchasing issues.
• Manages inventory control.
• Manages hiring, training, development, and performance appraisals of associates.

Preferred Qualifications

• Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline.
• Generally, 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification.
• Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
