When it comes to environmental consulting, we’re focused on cleaning up our communities today to improve tomorrow. We’re seeking an Environmental Compliance Consultant to perform onsite permitting, monitoring, inspections, and other compliance tasks. You’ll contribute your experience and knowledge to our S&EHS Compliance team.

Based out of our Houston office, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with local and global experts to ensure Jacobs provides best practice solutions. You’ll prepare and deliver high-quality reports and presentations to clients’ technical and senior leadership in accordance with Jacobs’ quality process. Apply your technical experience to develop delivery strategies and develop client relationships while championing safety, quality, and the well-being of your team.

In this position, you will develop your understanding of and promote Jacobs’ solutions and technologies to internal and external stakeholders.

This position may require daily travel to a local client site and other occasional travel to team workshops, presentations, or to conduct site visits. Here's what you'll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental, civil, chemical, or a closely related engineering/technical discipline.
  • Minimum seven years of professional experience in Texas air quality programs, including Title V and NSR permitting, monitoring, reporting, regulatory applicability analyses, and environmental compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of Texas and federal environmental regulations, with experience supporting operational compliance at industrial facilities.
  • Experience serving as a primary client-facing technical resource, managing client relationships, and communicating effectively with clients, contractors, and project teams through strong verbal, written, and technical reporting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, lead projects with limited oversight, direct and mentor staff, and apply strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of industrial manufacturing and process operations, including direct experience with refineries or petrochemical facilities and the compliance implications of refinery processes.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure within one year of employment.
  • Ability to work on local client sites daily and travel up to 50%.
  • U.S. citizen.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Master’s degree in environmental, civil, chemical, or a closely related engineering/technical discipline.
  • Environmental consulting experience with demonstrated expertise in multimedia environmental compliance, including RCRA, SPCC, stormwater permitting and SWPPP development, TRI/Tier II reporting, LDAR programs, environmental auditing and gap analyses, and compliance management system implementation (e.g., Enhesa).
  • Experience interpreting stack testing and air dispersion modeling results and applying findings to permitting, reporting, and compliance strategies.
  • Experience supporting environmental compliance and permitting for industrial operations, including chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing, foundries and metals facilities, smelters, airports, and capital projects from permitting through operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor staff and effectively engage with stakeholders through public meetings, community relations, and stakeholder outreach activities.

91,400.00

Posted Salary Range: Upper

136,000.00

Jacobs has an unlimited U.S. Personalized Paid Time Off (PPTO) policy for full-time salaried/exempt employees, seven paid holidays, and caregiver leave. And certain roles may be eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, performance discretionary bonus, and stock.

The base salary range for this position is $91,400.00 to $136,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
