About us
A local Alaskan developer and contractor in Anchorage is hiring for a skilled and experienced Construction Project Manager/ Superintendent to join our team with a preference in Civil or Landscaping.
This person will oversee the various commercial and residential construction projects and residential multi-unit properties. The ideal candidate will provide overall project management and direction to workers and contractors.
This position will have a diverse scope and require initiative, critical thinking, and proactive communication skills.
Required education or experience:
- Degree in Construction Management/Engineering and field management experience
OR
- Extensive field management experience
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all phases of projects
- Manage subcontractors (scope, work, contract)
- Understand, analyze, and manage cost, schedule, quality, and safety
- Close monitoring of critical milestones and deliverables
- Communicate with leadership and adjust priorities and focus as needed
- Work closely with all teams to ensure high quality and safety are maintained
- Provide engineering and technical guidance and oversight to project staff
- Work closely with site superintendents and foreman to oversee construction
- Ensure compliance with all quality, regulatory, and security processes
Authoring and reviewing contract deliverables including, but not limited to:
- product or technical submittals
- work plans
- safety plans
- sampling and analysis plans
- status reports
- project plans
- proposal responses and bid documents
- technical evaluations and solutions
- compliance documentation
Required skills and abilities:
- Computer literate and able to use Microsoft Office
- Able to use online apps and software (such as estimating)
- Knowledge of (or ability to learn) local building codes and regulations for commercial and multi-unit residential buildings
- Ability to estimate quantity & material take-offs from construction drawings or on-site measurements
- Ability to work independently and in teams under low supervision
- Strong communication and written skills
- Problem identification and resolution skills
- Ability to retain employees by building loyalty and trust
