Gas Turbine Mechanic

RIGHTSTONE IS HIRING! We’re looking for a hands-on Gas Turbine Mechanic to join a busy turbomachinery workshop supporting industrial gas turbine equipment in Houston, TX with $21/hr pay for a 1 year contract(potential temp to hire opportunity) . This role is very similar to automotive or heavy mechanical work, but on much larger and more complex machines. You’ll be working with turbine components that can weigh up to 20,000 lbs, so safety, precision, and teamwork are critical. This is not a standard 40-hour role. Primary shift:

• 6:00 AM–2:30 PM (8-hour) or 6:00 AM–4:30 PM (10-hour, flexible)

Must be open to second shift during outages:

• 2:00 PM–10:30 PM or 2:00 PM–12:30 AM

Overtime & Weekends: Required at times, especially during outages

Expect to work 10-hour days regularly — this role is ideal for someone who wants consistent hours and overtime

What You’ll Do:

• Disassemble and assemble gas turbine components and cases
• Inspect turbine blades, compressors, and rotating equipment
• Troubleshoot, test, and visually inspect equipment
• Perform repairs and modifications on non-conforming parts
• Read and follow detailed mechanical drawings and work instructions
• Use hand tools, pneumatic tools, and hydraulic tools
• Accurately measure parts using calipers, micrometers (ID/OD/depth), and other precision tools
• Work closely with a team to meet tight deadlines while maintaining safety and quality standards

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong mechanical background (gas turbines preferred, but not required)
• Experience in heavy equipment, turbines, engines, automotive, industrial mechanics, or similar roles
• Ability to read and understand complex mechanical drawings
• Comfortable working with large machinery and tight tolerances
• Solid job stability — preference for candidates with 2+ years per role
• Team-oriented, safety-focused, and dependable

Requirements:

• Mechanical experience (3+ years preferred, open to 10–15+ years)
• Steel-toe shoes required
• Ability to work in a workshop environment
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and occasional 2nd shift
• Safety-focused mindset (HSE training provided on Day 1)
